Qualifications (Full)

In addition to Jeff's profession in Investment Advisory and Management for more than 15 years, he is or has been very active with many Corporations, Registered Charities, and non-profit organizations.  A testament of his accomplishments was when Jeff was the recipient of the Town of Oakville’s prestigious Community Spirit Awards for Individual Volunteer of the Year in 2005.

Here are some of the positions Jeff currently holds or has held in the past:

:: Financial Advisor, NO INTEREST Investments and Global Maxfin Investments Inc.

:: V.P. Business Development, Global Prosperata Mutual Funds Inc. and a Founding member of the Investment Management Committee;

:: Canadian Cancer Society – Director/Member of Oakville Unit Council (2007 – present);

:: Chair Media Relations and Community Development -> Rick Hansen Wheels in Motion (Oakville 2006-2009). Committee Member, 2010;

:: Past Chair (1 term) and Vice-Chair (2 terms) of the Town of Oakville’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee & member of the Parks and Trails sub-committee;

:: Halton Region Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park Community Liaison Committee (2 years);

:: Former: President of MADD Halton/Peel Region, Chair of the Halton Easter Seals District Council, Member of the Mississauga Safe Driving Committee and one of the founding members of the Brampton Safe City Committee;

::Soccer House League Coach for the Oakville Soccer Club (2007 and 2008);

:: Director for the OMBA (Oakville Minor Baseball Association) – Oakville's longest established baseball association for youth (47 years);

:: Director for Sport Oakville, formerly called the Oakville Sports Council;

:: Served two years on a Federal Immigration and Citizenship Committee for the Halton Riding M.P.;

:: Director and current Vice-President - MYSL (roles from 2005 to present) with additional duties as Soccer Head Coach, Convener, and League Head Coach in 2009 supervising 150 coaches with over 1000 players;

:: Participated on many multicultural/inter-faith & diversity boards and focus groups, including Community Development Halton’s Diversity Breakfast Series, churches, temples, and mosques;

:: Treasurer and Founding member of the Muslim Children’s Aid & Support Services (MCASS), a GTA charitable Social Services organization (2004 to present);

:: Past Director and Chair for ISSRA (Islamic Social Services & Resources Assoc.), a Toronto Social Services Organization serving low income and senior residents of all faiths;

:: Former Co-Producer and Guest Host of Radio Islam, a weekly not-for-profit radio program broadcast on CHIN FM/AM in Toronto (2002 – 2004) and founding member/co-ordinator of numerous conferences and events that attract 2,000 - 10,000 annually;

:: Co-Producer of an inter-faith TV Series pilot program that was accepted by CTS (Christian Television Network);

:: Received the prestigious Certificate of Recognition from the Principal of Erindale College (University of Toronto) for exemplary volunteer participation on campus (100 or more volunteer hours in one academic session with various organizations/committees);

:: Certificate of Appreciation from Special Services Dep't for volunteerism for being a Note-taker, Volunteer Research Assistant, and Textbook Reader for the legally blind - Erindale College, University of Toronto;

:: Volunteer Teaching Assistant (Peel Board of Education) assisting with grades 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 split classes with 50%+ immigrant students;

:: Volunteer resume-builder and career networking liaison to many ethnic immigrant groups;

:: Member of ICNA CANADA since 1994 in various past executive roles in the Halton/Peel Region Office: Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Director of Communications and Public Relations, Conference Marketing Manager, Community Outreach Co-ordinator for high schools, ICNA Relief, Al-Falah Islamic School.
